Algonac State Park
Algonac State Park is a 1,450-acre (5.9 km2) state park in St. Clair County, Michigan. The park has approximately a half mile (800 m) of St. Clair River frontage, making viewing of international freighters a major attraction.[1]
Ecology
Approximately 83% of the park's area is undeveloped. This undeveloped portion of the park encompasses significant lakeplain prairie and oak openings (savannas),[2] which have been described as unique natural environments in Michigan. The park is home to at least 22 endangered, threatened, or special concern plant and animal species.[3]
